3 perks of having your OJT in the CCP
Having your on-the-job-training at the Cultural Center of the Philippines can mean more than just filling up your required school hours. It’ll be an exciting way to learn and contribute more in one of the premier arts and culture institutions of the Philippines.
Here are some reasons why learning on the job can be a fun and stimulating experience in the CCP:
Art Management
Working in the CCP will allow you to learn on how the local art world works. Have you ever wondered why certain artists are always picked out for certain exhibits? Or do you want to know what makes an artist a National Artist (aside from the adjective “National”)? You’ll have a brief but enlightening exposure of the rationale and planning involved on these important aspects.
Aside from these artists, you’ll also get to have access to information not readily available in school books. You’ll have the opportunity to meet various people belonging to different fields in the art world. You may even get to meet historians, anthropologists and researchers, who’ll be more than happy sharing their knowledge with you.
Theatre
An important and often visited part of the CCP is its theatre group. As an OJT, you’ll get to meet the passionate people involved in making and executing renowned plays. You may also get the opportunity to watch dress rehearsals – you may even get to see and experience real drama unfold.
All aspects of the theatre will be discussed to you. If you do get the chance to work with a theatre lighting technician, then you’re in for a treat. You’ll get to see how a single hue of light can make a big difference on certain scenes of a play.
Music
Music is also an important and popular part of the CCP. You’ll have the chance to meet and learn from some of the world’s best singers and musicians. You may even get the very lucky opportunity of watching a real orchestra perform.
Even better, musical genres of all sorts converge in the CCP. From being a venue for rock and jazz festivals, ethnic dances and folk lyricists, there’s never a dull or silent day in these institution. By being an OJT, you’ll not only learn, but contribute to this wonderful and important events as well.
These are just some of the many perks involved by having your OJT in the CCP. But most importantly, being an OJT in this prestigious institution allows you to contribute to the local Filipino art scene, a passion and desire sought by many. Enjoy your OJT, and keep up the good work.
