My Blueberry Nights Movie Review

Wong Kar Wai IS a god. I’ve never had a favorite director when it comes to the movies I watch. Usually I pick my favorite movies based on the amount of sensible dialogue it has and the overall feel I get in the end.

But since I’ve seen Chungking Express, everything changed. I knew there was something different about it, something I can’t quite put my finger on. Now I know that that something is Wong Kar Wai.

After I finished watching My Blueberry Nights, I had the same feeling I had as when I had finished watching Chungking Express about a year ago. It was kind of an overwhelming awe with what happened.

I didn’t feel like I watched a movie, instead it was like peeking into someone else’s life for two hours, and it had been the best two hours of my life.

Aside from the fact that I love everyone who is in the movie—Jude Law, Norah Jones, Rachel Weisz, and Natalie Portman—I love having to see Wong Kar Wai’s style again.

It’s a bit different from Chungking Express, but I love it all the same
